Soft drinks

As opposed to the carbonated drink market, where some big companies have managed to position themselves on a worldwide scale, the non carbonated soft drinks market is dominated by more regional, medium size companies that serve the very particular needs of their local markets.

A soft drink formula is composed of one or more types of concentrate or flavor, mixed with deaerated water and sugar.

The standard process of making soft drinks consists of mixing the ingredients, normally with a continuous mixing system which is then followed by a cooling process. As they do not contain carbon, most non-carbonated soft drinks need to be pasteurized with an alternative option being micro filtration. Aseptic filling normally follows for both methods.
