DETAILS OF LDPE PLASTIC WASHING FACILITY 1. Bulk unsorted film is loaded into 2 primary shredders using an Atlas grab. These 90kw shredders tear the plastic into fist sized lumps. 2. Shred materials is then conveyed to 2 first centrifuges. These 45kw machines beat off most of the heavy contaminants which are trapped in sink float trays beneath. 3. Material is then conveyed to 2 heavy contaminants settling tanks. These machines have high pressure water jets which blast any remaining contaminants. 4. Material is then augered to 2 additional centrifuges. These 45kw machines rinse the plastic. 5. At this point, primary washing is completed and the material from the two primary wash lines is brought together and conveyed to a wet grinder. This 160kw machine reduces the film to particles about 10mm square. This machine is manufactured by Folcieri and branded by Tecnofer. 6. After the Folcieri grinder, the material is augered into a sink float tank. Residual heavies sink and floaters are paddled towards a reclaimer. 7. After sink float, the material is augered to a drying centrifuge. This 45 kw machine beats off water. 8. The material is then augered to a force fed screw press. This 60kw machine squeezes out more water reducing moisture content to about 10%. Due to the high pressure of the material in this machine, partial melt occurs. 9. To fluff up the material after the screw press, the material is conveyed to a final grinder. This 75kw machine breaks down any lumps and delivers a nice fluffy quality material to the drying plant. 10. From the drying plant, the material, at say 2% moisture content, is blown to a baler or silo in advance of pelletising.
