Web tension nip unit. It consists of a chrome plated steel roller which is driven by a d.c. motor and by a rubber-covered nip roller (65 Shore rubber hardness) which is peumatically actuated. The lead motor drives, via power transmission belts, also the spreader roller, the slitting backup roll, and two rewinding pull units.

Tendency driven (by belt system) rollers on the overhead web path.

Bowed spreader with fixed bow (curve). Planetary adjustment of the arc, via selector switch, allowing to set the desired bow for the web.
