MATERIALS TO BE PRINTED
Materials to be printed:Plastic films and paper within tension range specs.
Note: thickness and width of the materials to be processed in the machine must match with the "tension range" specified here under. Furthermore low thickness flexible materials are subject to snap backs which have to be taken into consideration when choosing the proper printing parameters.
Note: KODAK FOA primer must be applied offline recommended by Kodak technical sheet. Both plastic film and paper must be properly coated offline with the water-based Kodak FOA primer.
Directions and specifications will be shared once the order is finalized.

In any case with min./max. standard ratio = 1:10 (0.1 to 1.5 pli)
[the infeed nip-roller is necessary when working with minimum total tension less than 3 Kg (30N); anyway the minimum tension cannot be lower than 20 N (about 2 Kg - 4.5 pounds)].
TYPE OF INKS
Type of inks used :Water based inks on the ink jet section.
Exclusively ink, fluids or supplies supplied by Kodak or manufactured to Kodak's specifications with Kodak's prior written approval on the KODAK System section (the section will NOT be explosion- proof).
REMARK:In case of an inline OPV (over printing varnish) is not foreseen or not applied, the Customer must previously check the scratch resistance of the digital inks by a test at Kodak Plant.
Both the Kodak FOA primer and CMYK Kodak inks are water based, and the whole process and jettability in the Kodak Prosper 24.5” Writing System is possible and guarantee only with this set of products certified by Kodak. The OPV or any further coating over the digital printing, should be done with products recommended by Uteco. The customer can use his preferred product, after Uteco has verified them.
Uteco recommends water based OPV and coating.For this reason the whole machine will not be explosion-proof.
REMARK: the customer, according to the regulations of the geographical area where he operates, to the type of printing and the application field, must verify the suitability of the materials, inks and their process, either for final use or in compliance of production standards.

Kodak Prosper 24.5” Writing System, containing 4 line heads each with 620 mm print width, each containing 6 Prosper Jetting Modules (JM) mechanically positioned, and stitched electronically. The standard Writing System will print process color (CMYK) wet on wet on substrates primed (inline or offline) with Kodak FOA primer.
The standard resolution is 600x900 dpi producing consistent round dots resulting in visual PQ similar to offset with 200 lpi.

KODAK FLUID STATION CONDITIONING
An air-cooled water thermoregulating unit controls the central impression drum temperature as well as cools the outfeed chill rolls and the hydraulic power unit (if included in this supply).

POSITIONING OF THE PRINT STACK UNIT
ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED, MOTORIZED DECK-IN (RACK-IN)
The longitudinal register is motorized. Register movement commands are located on a remote control panel. The register adjustment is effected by means of the motor of the printing cylinder.
Correction range: 360°
The side register is motorized operating directly on the union supporting the air mandrel. Max. correction range: ± 10 mm.
Side register movement commands are located on the same remote control panel (pendant) as the longitudinal register.
The Uteco register control is composed by:
-1 high speed sensor for the reading of the register mark
-1 elaboration card installed on each drive of each printing cylinder of the stack unit
-1 page integrated in the machine supervisor
-control of the longitudinal register: error calculation and register adjustment
-repeat control: error calculation and printing repeat adjustment
-the sensor can read both the positive register marks (dark mark on a light base) and the negative marks (light mark on a dark base)
-configuration of the sensor for the reading of the register mark from the machine supervisor
