Description: The system consists of an electric belt conveyor that enables the continuous transfer of cylindrical plastic components along a fixed route. The components are conveyed by being dragged along a series of motorised V-belts running on dedicated guides. At the end of the route, one component at a time is gripped by a pneumatic gripper, which is in turn moved by a mechanical arm mounted on a gear motor, transferring the component to a camera station (Manufacturer: SmartVision). At this station, two cameras capture and display on a monitor a magnified image of both ends of the component, highlighting any burrs or filaments. Once the visual inspection is complete, a KUKA KR5 robot positions the component in the pre-determined order inside a rectangular cardboard box (if the part is compliant) or onto a dedicated reject tray (if the part is non-conforming).
In this configuration, the system requires an operator to change the box. The operator can also manually reject any component they deem defective on screen by pressing a button.
