MachinePoint successfully recovers its attendance at international trade fairs

Many companies that traditionally only bought new are entering the used machinery market for the promptness of their purchase, in response to the long lead times for new machinery.

The current circumstances that the new machinery market is facing, long lead times for orders and price increases, have led many companies to consider the option of resorting to used machinery as the main alternative to fulfil their projects. Eurasia Packaging Fair is the largest and most comprehensive annual trade fair for the packaging industry, which took place in Tüyap, Istanbul, from 20th to 23rd October 2021.

MachinePoint’s team travelled to Istanbul for three days to meet its customers; to know and understand immediate concerns, and, at the same time, to understand the current trends in the sector.

Volkan Yilmaz and Zümran Açmaz, sales managers at MachinePoint, explain with satisfaction the increase in visitors compared to previous editions, most of whom are managers. At the same time, they clearly argue that the existing problems caused by the shortage of supplies and the resulting delays in distribution, have caused, on more than one occasion, real hindrances, even for the OEMs, whose delivery times have been affected. However, all this represents a real opportunity for the used machinery market, as it has managed to position itself as a real and effective solution in the current situation.

At the same time, and more specifically, the Turkish market is showing an imminent need for the purchase of machinery, as well as a greater interest in the used machinery market because of what was mentioned previously. In the plastics sector, flexible packaging printers and slitter rewinders are the most sought-after machines, while in the beverage sector, the machines that caused most interest are filling lines and blow moulding machines from brands such as Sidel, Krones, Husky and Nissei.

The 26th edition of the Eurasia Packaging 2021 trade fair is starting for the first time in hybrid format at Tüyap. The show’s management says it has been a real success, welcoming a record number of visitors, mostly from countries such as Germany, USA, France, UK, Israel, Iraq, Iran, Romania, Ukraine, Jordan, and Greece. Zümran Açmaz comments: “It has been a really fruitful fair, very well attended, with international visitors, which has allowed for very productive connections to be made.”
