The robot replaces an operator at the exit of the machine, picks up the already cut pieces and places them on a conveyor belt, which allows to have only one person at the exit of the line instead of two.
The "corner cutter" is a custom-made machine. It is made to cut the corners of a thermoformed part, to facilitate the insertion of thermoformed wedges into a box, for example.
Corner cutting can also be used to give an aesthetic look to a box, thus eliminating the contour between the top of the thermoformed part and the box. (widely used for luxury boxes).
