A rotary cap compression machine is a rotating multi-mould machine, each mould consists of a die and a punch, a polymer pellet, usually PE (Polyethylene) is extruded at "rubbery" temperature inside the die and the punch enters the die compressing the plastic into the desired shape, then it is cooled and demoulded. These machines produce high quality closures because they are made at a lower temperature and change size less, but with less complexity than injection moulding machines because the plastic is not injected liquid. Currently 40% of beverage closures are produced by this system.
