PET preform injection molding machine consists of an injection system, a clamping unit with a multi-cavity mould. The mould usually has a hot runner system to ensure identical flow, temperature, and pressure in each cavity. PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is injected into the mould in liquid form through the hot runner system. The mould plate contains the cavities that form the desired preform. A computer-controlled hydraulic or electrical mechanism pushes the mould plate against the molten material to form the preform. Pressure and temperature are regulated to obtain the desired results. Preforms are mainly used to produce containers and bottles. The main brands in this type of machines are HUSKY, SACMI, NETSTAL, SIPA, BMB and NISSEI ASB.
